Default Quilting Retreats in New England area?

Has anyone been to any quilting weekends/retreats in particular in Maine/Massachusetts/New Hampshire area? Did you enjoy it? Did you go individually or with friends/a group/guild? If individually, did you feel awkward not knowing anybody? I've seen a few places on-line but many of them require you to be part of a group or organization.

I am interested in a weekend of open sew/quilting as I never seem to have time to sew while working full-time and being a mom to a 13 month old.

    Thank you,
    Beth (from Massachusetts)

Are you anywhere near Quilter's Stash in North Attleboro? As far as I know, they don't run retreats, but I'm sure they would have information on upcoming events and could point you in the right direction. http://www.quilters-stash.com/

Where exactly are you? I live in Massachusetts and at least twice a year we go to Maine for a long weekend of quilting. We go on Thursday and come back on Sunday. While there we visit at least three quilting shops. We go to Mardens which is similar to Ocean State Job Lot but has lots of fabric. We spend the whole weekend quilting, shopping and eating. Our is not an official group but a bunch of rag tag (LOL) women who meet once a week to quilt, knit etc but mostly quilting. No agenda .

There's a quilt retreat coming up in Alton Jones (part of Univ of RI) at the beginning of March...go on the Ninigret Quilters website and get in touch with Tina Craig...I beleive its open to nonmembers.
    Good Luck,
    Sue

Hi , There is a quilting retreat at the Woodbound Inn (Ridge, N.H.) April11-14, 2013. Good food, sewing time unlimited and lodging in the same building. Heard the food was too good to be true. PM me and I'll give you more info. Judy

I live in Holbrook, MA (near Braintree/Abington/Randolph). Can you provide further information on your trip to Maine if it has already been planned. What are the dates, prices, information etc.

Our guild has a quilt retreat in April. You don't have to be a member to attend, in fact, half of the people who go are not members. I always have a great time. Check our website, www.bmqg.org for info. It's called the Getaway.
