Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows if there's a fusible web or any other product that allows you to easily stitch through it by hand. I enjoy stitching by hand but I'm no good at needle turn applique. I was thinking I could fuse the pieces down and then stitch by hand around the edges. Thank you!

Seam 2 Seam has a light fusible so does Wonder Under. If your applique is made with big pieces I've even used fusible interfacing sewn on wrong side together. Then make a slit in back turn and iron it to your background fabric. No raw edges and it gives a boost without bulk. The idea came from Elenor Burns when she did her Sunbonnet Sue quilt.

I have hand stitched through multiple layers of Wonder Under (Pellon 805) without much difficulty, but found Steam-a-Seam2 Lite gummed up my needles, both hand and machine, very quickly which made me stop using it. Misty Fuse is the lightest weight, but it does not have a paper backing. You can, however, press it onto parchment paper if you need the paper.

And an FYI, you can run Wonder Under through an ink jet printer to print, rather than trace, your patterns if you want. Much faster and more accurate.

Ghostrider thanks for the headsup on the steam2seam. Ihaven't used it myself but read adds about it. I usually use Heat&Bond lite for my appliques and can sew thru it and doesn't gum up needles.

Mmmmmm, I usually have something I am appliqueing on all the time, quilts, wallhangings, pillows etc. I always use Steam a Seam Lt. II, in fact I use so much of it, I buy it from my LQS by the box! I have never had a problem with it, and find it much easier to needle, than the others. I do all my applique by hand.

I have always used Heat and Bond Light, or Transfuse, which I am not sure if you can get anymore. I have been wanting to try the Steam-a Seam and will buy a small amount to try, but if I like it, probably will buy in bulk. I do lots of machine applique, but also some work by hand.

mistyfuse is a nice soft fusable.

I too use the method of sewing to fuseable interfacing. Turning and the hand stitching down. Gives the same look as needle turned appliqué.
