Default Any Updates on the Moda Just One Star Challenge???

The challenge is to piece, quilt and bind 100 quilts in 100 days using the
Flag of Valor pattern by Minick and Simpson.
    The deadline for star blocks
is May 1, 2011 so that we can meet our quilt deadline
by Flag Day, June 14, 2011.

Does anyone know whatever came of this challenge by Moda Fabrics? The title of the challenge is "Just One Star." I just checked the website and the newest post entry seems to be from 2012, but I don't see how many quilts were made or pictures of the quilts made? I may not be looking in the right place for the answers. It would be fun to know what came of the blocks that were sent in! Thanks!

I agree with you. DD and I each sent several blocks; I checked the website for awhile after the deadline, but never saw any updates. I wonder if e-mails to Moda's website asking about "Just One Star" would produce any current information. I think I'll send them a note now. How about the rest of you who are curious?

Last I heard, they hoped for around 2,000 and received closer to 15,000...
Here's the most recent update I could find:

Thank you for the update, I too sent a star in and wonder what happened in the end.

I too have been trying to see updates on the project ... I'm still somewhat unsatisfied. I was hoping for updates on when and to whom the "Just one Star" quilts were donated. Pictures ... stories ... something. They end the story with the process of making the Just One Star quilts, not even a mention that they are done ... then nothing.

So what happened to the Just One Star quilts??
How many total quilts were completed?
    Have they been distributed yet?
Would be neat to know how many stars came from each state as well.

I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of follow up status.

I saw updates for awhile, and I got a 2 1/2 inch square pack of quilting blocks. That really surprised me, I didn't expect anything as a thank you. I did hear that they got way more squares than they expected. I guess they should have known that quilters would jump on it!!! I did see some pictures of stacks of folded quilts that were waiting to be distributed to places that needed them.

Let's hope we will see something more the next time we check the Moda website. I sent in four blocks and did not receive a gift or an acknowledgment. It would be nice to know what happened to all the blocks.
