Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers. I am feeling really good aside from a few muscle spasms here and there due to the irritation with the scar tissue and such
I am excited to see how the quilting looks on ZZ's top
    Hugs

It is so hard to pick out the backing. I have two pieces and can't make up my mind, maybe I'll just do, any-many-miny-mo. or just do the muslin thing. Do any of you put the muslin as the backing???

I have a friend who uses a quality muslin for the backs of all her quilts, especially if she hand quilts them. I use whatever is on sale or I have on hand. I have even used up orphan blocks and left over fabrics, pieced them together and used that for the backs then I have used two yards of one and two yards of another if that is what I had on hand. For my extra special quilts, that are definitely themed, I find a fabric (generally on sale) that is real close to the front. I have also made sure to use up what fabric is left from the front for the back and added into with coordinated pieces. I think it is just a matter of preference you have. If you have two pieces that work, then just do the meenie minie moe thing and go for it.

Haven't checked, but sure hope there are some baseball games or arena football games on TV this weekend. I have a quilt of valor quilt to finish binding and my quilt for my partner to bind. Plus, I do the binding for a LA for her customers that request it. Pays for a good bit of my quilting from her. Lots of sitting is waaay better if I can watch a ballgame - would even be better if it were a football game. Guess I'll do some menu searching since I don't get a TV guide.

I always watch the cooking channel Vanogay. Its kinda entertaining and I get some good ideas while stitching. I bind in dialysis. stuck in a chair perfect time to sit and bind. I have one more border to add and I am finished with the top. I ordered my backing, I have to piece it as the one I picked is only regular width so with luck I can actually get that seam down the middle. usually I fail miserably at getting a nice straight line on the back. its always askew somehow. sigh. but it will all be the same so phew. I found a pretty good deal on the batik material 6.99 a yard free shipping so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Now to afford the batting! sales I need a sale with free shipping. any ideas? I want fusible batting it helps me hold the back to the front so it doesn't slip when I am sewing. Twinrivers I am trying! I am. I even fit in that tiny slip of color we talked about. I cant wait to show it to someone. My DHwants it so I know its not that bad and I like it.. for a frog pond. lol.

Good luck with the fusible batting. I hated it. Hopefully you'll have better luck with it than I. SOme of the on-line groups have free shipping with over $50.00 orders - can you swing that in batting - even some for future projects????

Get to pick up my quilt from the quilters Monday.....can't wait.

I like to use the leftover fabric on the backs of my quilts when I can.....have used muslin many times also.

Oh my quilt will be getting its binding on soon. Oh Linny, how is that grandbaby? Is it here yet? I have 2.5 more blocks and I will have those all done for yours. I think I will send it to the longarmer. She is about 6-8 weeks out. May be an issue.

Yes, I'm hoping to have it done by the end of next week. Sounds like you've been busy....how are you feeling?
Baby came Easter Sunday. He's precious and we are able to skype alot so it's almost like being there in England. We probably will visit sometime in August. Can't wait to meet him in person.
