Default From Don-isewman--increased my cutting mat in length

I bought a new cutting mat, a little time back. It has somewhat some wear, now since I've used it. I have a couple other quilting mats, that I have put away. Don't use at all. I took 1 of the mats, and cut it in 1/2. I took the 1/2 mat, and taped it to the other cutting mat. Now I have a cutting mat roughly 18 x 37 1/2". Has been working out great for me now. Don-isewman

    1. How did you you cut it?
    2. What tape did you use to join them?

I have cut mats using tin snips. I don't own a pair , but my neighbor does!

I had a large cutting mat with a warp. I put it on a piece of board, with a metal yardstick and utility knife. I cut out the warped strip and now I have two smaller mats.

I taped 2 36" mats together so my 6 foot cutting table is totally covered with a cutting mat. I used duct tape . I had to trim one a little and just used my non-sewing scissors.
