Wow that bronze-plated White is kool! What a difference the finish makes.

^ Right you are, except bronze-plated. I looked it up. Made in 1926 only, made for White's 50 year anniversary.
Ooooooo, Joey likes.

Here is a light chocolate brown Singer 66-1 that has been rebuilt, and repainted as a crinkle sometime in it's life. It was originally posted here { http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...d-t223792.html } by lhayes1976, hope she don't get annoyed with me for posting it here. It's in a Craig's List add: { http://louisville.craigslist.org/atq/3849241855.html }. Perhaps the exposure will get the seller a buyer.

I fixed the pic a bit so here it is for my thread:

It has a couple of non Singer parts I can see; the stitch regulator knob and the pressure foot tension release knob for two. It also has a numbered style top thread tension on it rather than the original style.
The plated parts have either been thoroughly cleaned and polished or replated. They look nice. Under the cords you can just barely make out the shape of the pressure foot thumb screw, so if this is a 66-1 it's been converted to low shank feet.

Were I to go after this one I'd try to talk the seller down to no more than $35.00.

Caroline,

THAT is my favorite Kenmore. Mine has goodies too, but it's been a little at a time deal. It's one of the very best straight stitchers I have.

Oh, you need to cover that case, it looks a bit pathetic all nude like that.

Joe, actually the case is in very good shape for it's age. The weird lines you see on it is the sun shining through the sheer curtains. Perhaps later I will take a photo of it when the light is better.

OK, on my monitor it really looks like bare wood.
