Bremerton and Port Orchard. My father worked in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and I graduated from South Kitsap High School. After I got married, we moved down to Lacey and then Olympia before heading east to North Carolina.

I once wanted to attend PLU. I worked many years in downtown Tacoma.

I grew up in Alaska. My only time living in Washington was while at PLU. Can't say I miss living in the Tacoma area, although downtown Tacoma has improved dramatically in the past few years. Lots of effort being put into attracting visitors. They have the Museum of Glass now which is just amazing! Lots of Dale Chihuly glass. Gorgeous.

My only visit to North Carolina was a layover at the Charlotte airport on my way to Elizabethton, TN once. My sister lives there. Beautiful area. She used to be in E. City, NC (Her DH was Coast Guard). My dad was Coast Guard too. Seems like everyone we knew was stationed there at one time or another. Somehow we got missed. :-)

Having our own storm tonight. 96mph winds at the coast. Supposed to be gusting up to 60mph here. Good night to be quilting. :D :D

I have very quickly gone through all of the IRR threads this morning. What Beautiful work is being done here. We should all be very proud of ourselves. Great job ladies.

Just one week to go! Mailing date December 1st . . . if you're mailing overseas and want to get a headstart, I'm sure that's fine. Remember to add in a postcard or picture with this round. And please PM/email me and your recipient when you've mailed as well as me and your sender when you've received.

Boy, hasn't the time flown. Our next mailing date won't be until Feb. 15th, so plenty of time to relax and enjoy the holidays. Can't wait to see what happens in Round 2!

Here is what we put together for the original instructions:

Domestic Insurance- Please insure your package. While there is not much consolation if one of our quilts should get lost in the mail, I think that they pay a little more attention when the packages are insured. (Probably not correct, but it does make me feel better). Should anything happen we will have to prove the actual value that we listed as the insured costs…so we should insure them as to the approx. cost of the fabric and then assume the labor at a minimum of $10.00 per hour. I would insure them for $50.00 for the center, round 2- $100.00, round 3-$200.00, rounds 4 & 5- $300.00. If anyone has other ideas…I’m open to them…I’m not an expert at this.


Again...these are suggestions...we will need to be able to "prove" the $ amounts to collect the insurance if something did happen (which I truly hope does not!)
