Andrea and others, thanks for the tutes! I never thought about yarn being used! My only problem with that way is pulling of the thick yarn through the fabric. I have arthritis in my thumb joint that kills when doing a pinching motion after a bit. I may decide to "stuff" through toile or thin muslin. Thanks again for all the help!
BTW Andrea, nice to "see" you here again!

Hello Kitsie,
you could also have a look to the video by Tim Latimer how he does his Trapunto:

Hope that helps!

I've used the colored yarn to stuff the trapunto that is used for tying up gifts instead of ribbon. You used to be able to buy it in tons of colors, but now I only see it in limited colors and in small amounts.

Looks like a great book, feline, for just browsing through! Will get a used one from Amazon.
This is one of my most favortie quilting reference books and she has a section on trapunto methods by hand as well as a practice project for doing it.

When i first started quilting and needlework, my reference Bible was the Good Housekeeping Needlework book. There is a really nice section on Trapunto in there if you can borrow it from a library or get it used. I'm sure it is out of print now. I have found copies in thrift stores and Goodwill occasionally.

I'm not gone, Kitsie...just very busy! And I must admit there are not so many threads here about hand quilting etc. that I can comment.
The book that feline recommends is one of my favourites about hand quilting. I have learned a lot from it, so I am sure you will also enjoy it.
