My favorite choice would be 1 batik paired with solid black.

I would like to do the swap that you need to sign up for by December 20th. Is that the one with black and white with a bright? I would like to know if I can join. I have cornea disease in my eyes and I have had 1 replaced so far. They will do the right eye in January. I hope you will let me try. Thanks in advance.

1 paired batik with solid black (black batik maybe?)

Definitely batik with black -- using two batiks would not show off either well.

I never knew that a disappearing 4 patch could be so easy. Well looking at the instructions let's say it look easy. I better get some practice in.

my vote is 2 batiks paired with plain black cotton fabric. Black batiks are not easy to come by and even more difficult to match in color. Black is not always black, dye runs create a wide variety of shades.

I vote for 2 different batiks in a block paired with solid black. (Batiks often look great with a warm color like solid beige. Another idea is to pair them with any shade of a solid color, perhaps blue.) With 2 different batiks per block, if you sew 6 sets you might get 72 different batiks to put in a quilt top! It would be lovely!! On the other hand, if you sew 2 sets and the swap was for 1 batik per block, you might get 12 batiks (or less). If I sewed 2 sets I'd rather swap to get 24 batiks than 12...

Solid black (as in a Kona black or Moda Bella solid black). Black batik is too unpredictable.

    The choices are:

    * 2 different colors per block
    * 1 batik paired with solid black
    * 1 batik paired with solid white

So, either 2 different batiks per block or 1 batik with solid black. Let me know!
