I hate being told what to do - I guess that's why I've very seldom used a pattern. But, I can't quite get into doing a scrappy quilt. Crazy quilts - I love, but they are orderly to me. Oh Lord, there it is again - I'm extremes! I don't seem to have a moderate "speed" or energy. I think for a new years resolution I will make a scrappy quilt of some type. Just cut 2.5 inch blocks and put them all in a bag and stitch them as they come out. This should either cure me or send me to the loony bin

Mine say that I'm good at starting and bad at finishing - based on the stack of UFOs. As for the patterns, I like symmetry.

Mine say traditional and organized. I like scrappy quilts but they must be controlled scrappy. Chaos drives me nuts.

Mine says I have a lot to learn. Given what I'm working on right now and what I plan next I'm sort of a controlled scrappy/ limited palette sort. I like all quilts but don't think I'm good enough with colors to do a real scrappy quilt and have it look right. The next quilt I do will be a flannel single Irish chain on the front using cut up shirts for the color blocks and a solid flannel for the field. The back is going to be Wagga inspired with different sized patches of flannel intermingled-not following any pattern, just sewing it together until it's big enough.

Mine say I have trouble making up my mind. They also shout how slow I am.

Except for three Lone Stars made many years ago, all my quilts have been made with different methods, styles, color ways, fabrics, etc. The ones I have in my head are all different, too. Do they say I yearn for novelty?

What my quilts say? My quilts say "I think enough of you to put all this work into giving you a 'permanent hug' and I love you."
Oops! Read that wrong-My quilts show that I am happiest with lots of color, and using traditional patterns in nontraditional ways. My friends call my quilts fun and funky.

What a lot of wonderful answers! I think it's kind of fun to see what your work says. I'm glad I brought it up.

Mine say I like nature (earth tones) and organization. I like lots of "white space" with geometric shapes. My quilting says I have no artistic talent or imagination. Haha
