I just checked Hancock's website and didn't see anything fitting crafty pat's description. I did see something called Nature-Fil which is 50% rayon from bamboo and 50% cotton. Any thoughts on this product?

I use 2 layers cotton and a layer of Insulbrite. I'd rather be extra sure.

I recycle old jeans and use the jeans piece sandwiched between two cotton batting pieces. Don't use polyester as that will melt when hot.

i use almost anything recyclable... Old jeans, old bath towels, old ratty dish towels, leftover batting from other quilts, old potholders that need recovering.....

    I layer:
    denim, batting, fabric...
    denim, denim denim....
    fabric, batting, insulbright, batting, fabric..
    fabric, towel, insulbright, fabric...
    fabric, towel, towel, fabric..
fabric, old pot holder minus binding, fabric...

it just depends on what I have on hand..

Most recommendation are for 2 layers. I'm very heat sensitive, so I always use 3 layers.

I never thought of old jeans, thanks for the input. Will try next time.

I use 2 layers cotton and a layer of Insulbrite. I made several of them at Christmas, and everyone loves them.

I made my first pot holder using 2 squares of terry from an old bathroom towel. Cotton pieced design on front and solid cotton on back. Washer and dryer friendly works fine and still using it after 2 years.
