Judy: This has been my distraction. You "forced" me to get over my terror of on point quilts, so I had to try this one. Thank you for broadening my quilting horizons. Now I am getting back to my #6 mystery!

Gorgeous quilt, Emma!! Maybe you can show it in the red and white exhibit in Houston.

My main job got in the way of my sewing, so I haven't done my border yet. Hopefully I will have it done this week, and with any luck quilted.

I like seeing all the border variations.

I especially liked Siodach's slice and dice. Will have to save that post with the word document pattern I created.

Thank you Judy for a great train ride and I will definitely be hopping aboard on your next one.

Beautiful, Emma! What an amazing pattern. Are those pieces as tiny as they look?

Way to go, Emma. Fabulous pattern, so interesting. May I ask its name? And see, on point is not hard at all, is it? Your 25-patch are far harder to do!!! Good job.

Thanks for your everyone's nice comments. The quilt measures 100 X 100 without the 2.5 inch red borders I will add. The checkerboard squares are an inch square, not as bad as it sounds, I used the strip method and it went pretty fast. To me the really amazing part is the set in triangles. Without Judy leading the way I never would have tried this quilt. Another method I learned, by joining Brat's and Jaba's Medallion quilt along, was mitering the corner chevrons. Both things I would not have known how to do just three months ago.

Judy: We crossed replies. It is called "Baked Alaska", don't ask me why. A lot of the pictures have just plain set ins, can't remember where I saw the kind I used but I'm sure if you wanted to duplicate them you would have no problem. I just used the same sizes as I used for the whole block.
