    .. the alternate squares in the blocks do line up to a Irish Chain effect but it is pretty whatever you call it.

    just leave it on the floor and enjoy it awhile. You could quilt it as you go in sections. I think it's Marti Mitchel that has a book out called Machine quilting in Sections. Two or three sections would be easier to handle.
