Default Does anybody recognize this barn quilt pattern?

My cousin saw this in KY close to where they live, and he took the pic for his wife so that she could make a quilt like it because he loved the pattern of it. Now she and I would like to know the name of it. We could make one by copying it, but having a name is sooo satisfying, isn't it?

Wow, it might be an original.

If it is close to where they live, I'd stop in and ask them. Most of the quilt barn books/guides have indicated the owners of the blocks are welcoming to people that stop and talk about the block as they have special meaning to them. It looks like it would be paper pieced to me.

It might be a version of a Mariners Compass made to fit a square shape rather than a circle?

Thanks everyone, for your replies, I'll pass on the info to my cousin. We do love this design.

It looks like a variation of the Turkey Giblets. (The 8 center triangles are a different size in proportion to the block, and the other shapes have altered angles). The description also states it is a type of "counterchange" pattern.

Don't know actual name, but it could be foundation pieced in four sections then sewn together like a four patch.......not by me though!
