Default Are you familiar with these

I went over to my OSMG's house today to get a few needed items and take him some food and he showed me these two machines. One is a White that is 3/4 size, ZZ with a long shuttle bobbin. The other one is named Tenks Clipper. The picture of the Tenks machine is not very clear. The decals are in very good condition on the Tenks. The front face plate on the Tenks is different than most vintage machines I have seen. I told him I would ask my QB vintage sewing machine members if they knew anything about these two machines as I have been unable to find out anything on the net about the Tenks Clipper and haven't had time to check on the White ZZ. Does anyone here know anything about these two machines.

As far as the White Long Shuttle Zigzag machine is concerned, they were also put out as a Universal and a KADZ-620. I have two of them badged “Universal” with the numbers JC34 cast into the underside of the base. The only one that I’ve messed with so far (a black one) has a broken zigzag cam in it (the only plastic in the machine). I’m not sure about the other one (a white over turquoise).

Someone on this group, maybe Caroline? has a lime green Morse that's a 3/4 size long shuttle machine. It's very cool.

I've been looking for a VS zigzag machine since I found out they existed. Don't know much about them - other than I want one!

Well, Tenks Clipper sold axe heads http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedi...-axe-139791723 and oil cans http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/...uincy-illinois and razors but nothing about sewing machines. Maybe was a hardware store?

Yep, Hardware companyhttp://www.idaillinois.org/cdm/ref/collection/qpl/id/744

"Tenks in an Iron Cross was the Tenks Logo on Many Tools) This example is one of the earliest of its kind , bearing the Est. 1865 inside the Logo"

Collectors in the knife world fight to get anything Tenks Clipper they can get their hands on, supposedly, as all things Tenks are hard to find.

Default Does this resemble the Hengstenberg-Anker shuttle path?

Coming back to look at these photos again, the unusual path of this vibrating shuttle made me think of a Hengstenberg-Anker machine in my collection. It is a transverse shuttle machine, from around 1900, but has a similar arching left to right motion. According to my notes this short arc shuttle movement was designed by Wittier of Bielefeld, Germany. Apparently another machine called 'Mother's Help' was nearly identical.

It's fascinating that this old and rarely seen mechanism showed up many years later, with a VS.

I took a photo of the underside but cannot attach it because it comes through much too large. Must figure out how to fix that.
