You are doing an awesome job on this quilt--don't envy you working on it though--not only all the techniques but I'm sooo tired of sampler quilts personally! Always like the ones I see, but so tired of making them! Have to admit this one is certainly busy.

it is busy, busy but it reminds me of our yard when we had wildflowers planted beside the garden beds, busy, busy but pretty in it's own way.

I think if you separated the blocks with just a narrow, say 1" or less, dark shashing the blocks would stand out individually and be much easier for the eye to separate and focus. It's a great quilt. Love the cactus bowl, but to highlight each I do think sashing is in order. Please let us see the finished quilt. Good luck.
