    Not too bright at all. It's a beautiful quilt. As for the 1st border, I would use either the blue or green in the blocks then a darker 2nd border if necessary.

    Why border? It would be just a lovely with a blue/ black binding....using a blue/black border is going to draw the eye out to the border, rather than to the beautiful blocks with the motifs. Just a thought.

    This is beautiful. I think the blue ist border would be nice. I think the piano border woudl be distracting. The second border could be one that goes well with the blue border and brings out one of the least popping colors in the quilt.

    I was expecting something really bright, but yours is just lovely. Love your fabrics and those 9 patches are great.

    My preference would be to use the dark blue/black as a border, with an optional narrow border of the red/orange fabric to frame the quilt. It's beautiful and you did a great job with your quilt.

    Beautiful quilt! The border you have planned with the same fabric as the nine patch will make a lovely frame. Please post a picture after it is quilted.
