    My large mat I also 24X36, so my husband used the length of the mat to determine the length of the table's surface then he added about 10 inches to the width to give me some room to keep my rulers, cutters and other notions handy. All in all, it's roughly 35X37 inches. We also made sure that the height of the table was right for me...I can cut for hours without any back strain (boredom is another matter, however...LOL).
