Thinking about AT THE ZOO THEME: I always think red for some reason when I think zoo. maybe its the popcorn box? lol. I also think you need to really think this one through! you could use all zoo type fabrics or you could get creative and use colors you personally associate with the zoo. animals? can be on the print or you could applique any animal that you love the most at the zoo. some love penguins. some love lions! sea lions? or perhaps its MONKEYS lol which is my personal favorite. lots to chose from. I recall the hippos the most sitting in the water and opening that huge mouth. always scared the heck out of me as a kid lol. I think reds and pink flamingos they had this big pond near the snack booth at the SF zoo. and in that pond were dozens of beautiful flamingos. loved sitting there and watching them while the kids ate their hot dogs. yup... flamingos would be good. so start thinking zoo and what your best memories of it are. do you think eucalyptus trees? big scent at the sf zoo! or do you think palm trees? or birds or lions tigers and bears oh my! petting zoos? get creative lets see what you come up with!

ok I have been asked why I promote these swaps yet don't participate. Last year I was very sick. I had 12 surgeries in 12 months. I didn't have it in me to commit to them and know I could send on time. This year its only been two but my sewing has been limited to 1 block per week. yuck! so I watch I dream I wish and most of all I hope. I hope to be back with you all sewing again just like you are. I am not great but I sure like playing. So soon as I can I will. Promise. In the mean time humor me if you could on just thinking about the swaps and wishing I too could be there right with all of you. xox

Anyone who wants to join in on the fun At the Zoo, don't forget to send me your details if you wish to sign up. That's the only way I can keep track of who wants in. Thanks!

I have just been told that you do not prefer suggestions so next month I will assign a theme and you will have your own choice in how to interpret that. I am apologizing for offending anyone who thought that I did not believe you could figure this out on your own. In the future you can write to me for ideas but no ideas on what to make will be posted. thanks for understanding.
