Wow dotcom that is awesome! having lived in the bay area almost all my life I see the golden gate bridge and the shoppers (pier 1!) lots of shoppers and people and cars and busy there for sure. That is a wonderful depiction of life in the greater bay area. You are so good at this! more more more!!! I finished drum roll.. no not my whole row but the center block with the two side blocks. think its just time for a rainbow ending similar to the top of my top row! pictures coming. I wished to finish that row during the weekend but my energy is really waning. I get up walk to the kitchen and put my head down. BORING! I cant seem to be able to do anything. I am trying so hard guys really I am. this quilt will get finished and I will be so very happy. today its looking for more Hawaiian flower type fabric. gotta order maybe half a yard? of this so I can cut and frame it all around the quilt on left and right sides. then .. its one round of border and off to themamahauser for quilting. its the binding that scares me now. lol. more than applique! got two quilts that need binding right now. whats with that? sitting sitting waiting on go....

Well I attempted to get some quilting done this weekend. TADA! ok it was an attempt only. I have not been feeling perky these last few days so I got all of 16 4.5 inch squares cut and then one row of rainbow fabric sewn so half of those 16 pieces were used. Not extremely successful. I am worn out to the bone and I am not feeling superb. darn it all! hopefully someone got more done than I did? my kids arrive in 2 days this had better disappear rapidly. shoot!

Great going Elsiabrat, a feeling of accomplishment does help with fatigue at least in our minds anyway. I fight with it everyday myself.

Yea for you Elisabrat!! Showed off my quilt to family that was visiting and am so happy with it. Really got to get photos of it, but I keep forgetting it at my mothers. Of course when family comes, my sewing room has to come down. Finishing up two quilts and am sweating even with AC on trying to sew the binding on them. But I need to get them done before Grands come on the 6th.
Everyone - with the national weather forecasts, please stay hydrated and keep safe.

No kidding! it is hot here and I take my naps with the fan 3 feet away from me. Its never cool enough. ok last night at 3 a.m. it was cool enough to pull a slight blanket over me. that qualifies as cool enough lol. I have my row done and need the kids who are in town to take a photo for me so I can share my hats and the matching design on the two rows. then its just waiting for my fabrics to arrive to cut my blocks praying the designs are perfect sized to cut and place on the quilt side blocks then it should in theory go rather fast. (in theory I am good at theory's) I wanted to share with you a story of a funny package I received the other day. I opened the mail yesterday and there was this mail from "Dorothy...) and I thought who the heck is THAT? and what did I buy? (LOL) and I pondered a minute or two then just opened it. Inside was this package of.. COCKTAIL Napkpins. Ok odd but what the heck? and on the front is printed Dinner is Served and a martini glass .. ok what the heck. I pulled out that envelope again, I looked inside the package no note.. odd as heck. THEN and only then as I sat stumped as all heck clueless and laughing why someone would send that to ME when I flipped it over and said saw your quilt and thought you would like these. MY COCKTAILS on the quilt here I was doing .. DUH. it was signed Dotty. Then it all clicked in and I was really laughing then because I #1 got it and #2 realized whom it was from and the great sense of artistic humor that came with it. It made 100 percent sense then. I shared the same story with the kids when they arrived yesterday and they got a good laugh at it too. I will get a lot of laughs out of that napkin fiasco which I adore. thank you Dotty!

TADA! now to start on the sides and the best part is the fabric I ordered is here so I can slowly cut the pieces out and sew them one block at a time together. I am very excited as well this puts me near the end. I think I will use the same pieces for both sides just lay them out differently. I hope that works after all it sure is easier a no thinker and drum roll please.. NO APPLIQUE! I have a few things to sew to the tiki hut but cant til its machine quilted first. hate to break the pieces and two don't want to ruin the quilting. wonder if the quilter can actually put the binding on for me? wouldn't that be a wonderful treat! I am just having so much trouble with my hands not sure its a good idea to have me do it. might take 10 yrs!

That is coming along beautiful Elisabrat!! If I was near you I would do the binding for you in a heart beat. Your colors tie in so well together. Hang in there - you'll get it done.
