WOW it has been OVER a month since anyone posted to this
forum, so here is a bump to bring it back to the top.

I have been working on TRYING to clean, organize, and destash
my fabric so I have not been able to do any sewing in quite some
    time.

But I sure do miss it and more so I miss doing any embroidery.

For towels I hoop the backing, use 505 spray to hold the towel to the backing and for the topper, and use a basting stitch to hold it all together. I started doing it this way after I warped a hoop fighting with towels.

    I use Pellon Sol-U-Film Lite. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Pellon-Sol...Yards/21976579
For real dense designs I use two layers. You can either use a warm iron to press the layers together or use a light spray of adhesive to stick the layers together.

I agree with the bump up. I have been hooked on embroidery tissue paper rolls but I need to move on to other things. I think I am going to try to embroidery on some baby clothes next. I have spent quite a bit of my weekend cleaning out my sewing room and organizing my embroidery thread. Need to learn more about what and how to embroidery. I may try embroidery on soap as well.

I have a Viking, but haven't used the embroidery yet. I am thinking of using it for tote bags and window treatments.

I wish people would post more in here.....we can all benefit from new tips and ideas....I have learnt so much from this board ...... As for embroidering towels......I have a small janome 350E which had caused me a lot if problems at first but once it got fixed its really working great......someone gave me a tip which I am using ...I don,t hoop the tower....I just put the towel on top if the hoop and placing a sheet of paper over it......the machine stitches over the paper.....which I have to remove after the design is stitched....it does take some time to get all the paper out if there especially if the design is very saturated but it works.....and eventually all the paper will get out with the washing......
.......I had also embroider on a jacket..but I did used the hoop for it.....I would like to know if someone here got another hoop for this machine beside the two standart hoops and if its worth the investment since I read different opinions iver the mega hoop ( doesn,t always work..? )
