Bad pictures, sorry, but this is the quilt I picked up at a garage sale. The woman who sold it to me told me her mother made it in the late 40's maybe as late as 1950. I asked for her mom's name, but she couldn't remember much. I am guessing it was made to celebrate the end of WWII. The needlepoint is very consistent. I think the pink and blue look 30's ish, but wonder if it's hard to tell with solids? If you have any insight about the patterns used for the needlepoint or possible age of the fabrics please let me know.

What a find! With the theme of V for Victory, I would guess the date at close to the end of a World War.

It is hand "embroidery". The morning glory flowers are the same as some that I stitched in the 1950's. I remember buying patterns at the 5 & dime store.

I suspect it is celebrating end of WW2 and if I were sewing it I would have started in about 1944 (Wars end) and I would have taken a few years to finish it!

Very pretty and a lot of time and work went into the making. Lucky for you to get it.
