Finished #15 the other day but forgot to post again. Too many other things going on. Never be caught up but I keep working at it.

maebe and dd - very nice blocks!

I've not been working on mine for some time - but I did use one of the patterns for trying something new. I think I'll do several to intermix in with the applique blocks.

    Default Block #16

Just finished block #16. My sister said to me, you haven't been sending any pictures of those quilt squares you been working on. That's because I haven't been working on them. My grandson has been here almost all summer. Haven't gotten much done. But I'm glad to be back working on them again. Got another one cut out last night.

It's sure nice to see another block!

I think most of us are busy with other things over the summer. I started on several more like I posted above, and plan on mixing them in with the machine applique ones. It's funny how at the start - one a week seemed very doable - until I figured out that the hand applique was taking me about 10 hours per block.

At this point, I plan on just finishing up enough of the black hand applique ones to make a wall hanging. While I don't mind needle turn, I really don't like it enough to get all 36 blocks done.

I've been having the summer busyness also affect my ability to work on this - one a week did seem so doable at the beginning! I'm sorry to all of you that I have not been active or able to keep up.

Regardless, I would like to get back into this project soon. Anyone who is still working or planning on working on these blocks, please continue to post all your beautiful quilt blocks. Our beginning of the year plan was ambitious. I imagine I will be working on this quilt well into 2016 at this point and I would love to have company.

I'm still working on it. Glad to have the company for as long as it takes. My sister keeps saying she wants to inherit the quilt but she's 13 yrs older than me. Not sure I want to finish it. She might try to knock me off.lol

Oh hahaha, dd, that is too funny! It reminds of a time when my niece was 5 and I was given a pair of fuzzy purple slippers for Christmas and she asked me if she could have them when I grew out of them!

Ladies your work is absolutely stunning. I do some hand appliqué but this project looks like it would send me over the edge (not that it is that far away at the moment!) Thank you for posting your photos and hopefully I will remember to pop back in and check on them as the weather gets cooler and there is more "quilting" time.
