What is your favorite part of making the quilt?

After I've decided on a pattern & have chosen fabrics, I love the beginning of measuring & cutting. Won't be long til I have to put a block together to see what's happening.
I can lose myself in that process.
Now dont ask me about making the backing fit & sandwiching. Hate that part. Once I can begin my lame version of free motion I'm good again.

My favority is finishing them and giving them to the recipent. Love to see their face when they get it as they're not aware they're getting one. Otherwise the creating the quilt from which pattern to use, which fabrics and then going on to the part of which quilting patterns to use on it when it gets to that stage. Making the quilt seems a snap but the creative part is the hardest for me to decide on. I'm still new at all this stuff so its hard for me to know if it looks good.

The piecing of it. I hate to pick fabrics because I am color coordinating deficient, but once I get that done, I can cut and piece and do that part. If I am going to be hand quilting it, then I love that part of it.
