    I think it'll work fine. As when I use it for backing I'd use he walking foot, it sure helps the puckering.

    Honestly, I've never heard of this or even thought of this. There would definitely be a cost difference.

    I like using fleece for batting in twin size quilts. It is already 60 wide, and you only need to quilt where you want to. It isn't going to shift or beard. The first quilt I ever finished, 10 years ago, has fleece for batting and is still used daily by my son. I do get better results when I spray baste it rather than pinning, but I know I never put in enough pins, so it could be just me.
