I have pinned all my favorite kid's and baby's quilts to a Pinterest board. You are welcome to take a look at my board and see if there is anything there that you like:

I have a baby quilt to make too. I am leaning toward "Baby Cakes".

Why not make a crazy patchwork quilt. You can cut out all the fabrics together in the stack n whack method - move the top fabric on the first pile to the bottom, then top 2 on the next pile and so on till each pile is different. Should be rather quick to make.

Maybe an hour-glass baby quilt like this?

How about this pattern...The Ribbon Box Quilt by Cloud 9.

It's free and fun to make. I made it for my granddaughter when she was born. It's 55"x62" so it's on the big side, and will be used when she moves out of her crib. It takes 1/3 yard of 12 fabrics. You cut it horizontally to make sure directional fabric is always the same direction. There are no "blocks" because it's all just pieces and you just put them together in rows. It's my favorite of all I've ever done.
