The packages have left the building!!! Yeah! Please let me know when you've received your HS blocks. I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed looking at all of them, mixing and rearranging them.

These are going to be some really beautiful quilts!

Now - - - onto to our September swap. I hope to see everyone and more new friends next month.

Thank you Jane for hosting and taking the time to re-sort and get them mailed out quickly. Still debating on September as daughter goes back to school and I am homeschooling. So will see..

Today I will probably finish cutting my Hunter's Stars and start to chain piece. I am so looking forward to swapping blocks for September.

Judith - hopefully you'll be making lots of different fabric/print combos; each one unique! The scrappier the better.

Oh yes, I definitely do scrappy. I'm pulling out lots of different fabrics that I have been hoarding with no particular plan. Hopefully, I will use lots of different fabrics then the ones you've already received. I have 4 more sets to cut out. And, then I will be able to sew. I hope to have them finished by early next week. I will pm you when I'm ready to send.

Thought I would share a tip that helps a lot when the blocks are not quite the right size. I am not talking about way too small, but up to a quarter inch off is an easy fix.

I have a June Taylor ironing mat (other brands are out there too). On the back side, which is hard, I have traced my square templates in several sizes.

When a block is soo small, I get it damp and then pin it onto the appropriate square using 5 or 6 pins on each side, and leave it to dry. When I take it off the board, it is the perfect size.

I hope to join in your swap someday when life slows down a bit.... or does that ever happen!

    hugs, Jupiter

Hey Irene C, love your blocks. Read your post about having mostly mediums. FYI, mediums look darker and the contrast is greater if you pair them with a white or light cream. Most of us have a lot of mediums too. Still, I love your blocks. Time for me to go hunting, ha

Hi Jane Quilter, Thank you. I didn't know about your FYI tip I am still learning about colors and such. I pulled out more mediums from my stash, I just need to fine more lights.
Happy hunting, would love to see how some of your medium blocks turn out.

I just sent Irene a PM and will offer up the idea to the whole group. Since many of us have fabrics in what we consider medium range (and, yes it all depends what you pair it with to get contrast) how about we do some swapping?? ((I love swapping fabric!!))

I realize we're probably making our HST's using different techniques. Me? I'm using a 6" square of each light/dark.

What is everyone else doing? That would make a difference.
