I thought I was the only one that couldn't reach the bottom of my new washer or dryer. I have to use a cane to walk with and it is a great tool for reaching a multitude of things. It is always in my hand so that makes it very useful.

I bought a long pair of locking tweezer like scissors at Harbor Freight. I can pickup stuff with out having to get down on my knees. They lock shut so you don;t drop it again. I keep a pair in the laundry room and a pair on mysewing machine. They are also great for turning tubes for purse handles.

This should probably go under "Recipes", but I feel that I should tell someone.
I wanted to make a spice cake in honor of my Dad who would have been 100 yesterday. Sadly he passed away at 89, and spice cake was his favorite. So I got on Recipes on Google and found one that called for a can of cherry pie filling run through a food processor. The thought crossed my mind....is there a cherry pit in this can.....as I hit the button. After the 3 layer cake was frosted and I sampled the first piece, the answer was yes. At least one pit. I bit down hard on it but did not break anything. The whole thing goes out .

My dryer has outlived two washers so it is reachable! But I can hardly get to the bottom of this washer. I think it will be wise of me to try to reach the bottom of a new one before buying. Next time. I am too unbendable as I get older. By the way...I think I make up new words as I find a need for them!

I have been using a "grab-it" from when I broke my arm to reach things in the washer/dryer. I really like the idea of the back scratcher better as it isn't as long and has the little "fingers". Thanks for the idea!
