while I have the chance

After re-reading comments... and on the suggestions of cashs mom and hybearn8r, I think I am going to have two more outlets put in the floor. I was only going to have one for a long arm but I won't be able to add more once the floor is down.

I have a friend who hired a lighting contractor to design the lighting in a new kitchen. It was expensive and she rejected the ideas as she thought there were too many lights. So she did it her way. She was sorry and is still wishing she had listened to the lighting designer. She said there was a lot of math and the light from the windows was taken into account, and the shade from the trees, etc. And I was there and the kitchen was dark. Marcia

WOW! I would take in consideration the length of your machine cords and if you have length to move them from one outlet to another. If your going to have any tables, chests or cabinets that you will have lamps sitting on them think of where you want that outlet. Anxious to see the finish.

Be sure you have everything for a TV setup and if possible hang on a wall to save your counter space. Also be sure you have that wifi well covered. I have my computer in my studio also so have a printer to save time running to another room. I agree with everyone on lots of lights and outlets--they never go empty. Enjoy!

And where is the cozy comfortable overstuffed chair? I second the TV on the wall and a dedicated computer area.
Sometimes a mirror is helpful too. What about the coffee bar? Have you seen those storage stairs on pinterest?
Yes, the design wall needs special consideration. Scrap bin? Thread wall storage? Peg boards? Furniture?
Oh what fun! Excited for you!

Sounds wonderful. You have great opportunities here. You'll love the higher outlets.
Two important points. I have an outlet at each light switch in the bedrooms. I wish I had put them in the living room and hallway, too. Think vacuum cleaner. The easiest place to find an outlet is right next to the light switch by the door.
Point two: My living room is wired so that I can flip the switch and everything on that circuit goes off. I have the TV and all the video stuff plugged into those outlets along with a few lamps. When I go to bed there is nothing drawing electricity in there all night long. The outlets are wired so that the top plug in each outlet is live and the bottom plug goes off with the switch. I love that. I sure wish my sewing room had that, too. Hope you can get your electrician to do that. I had mine done in 1987.
