Is this board being closed soon?

Seems fine to me. I haven't noticed anything weird. I too would miss this board very much. I spend way too much time here. There is so much inspiration here and lots of free tutorials also. Plus, I have made many quilty friends that I can only find here on the board. Let's just hope that all is well unless expressly led to believe otherwise.

Just somethings that raised my attention. Not worth going a big discussion about. Hopefully I am very wrong and probably so. Mostly I wanted everyone to have a back up. Get emails from you buddies here or a place to stay in touch via other boards or sites. You never know when one day you will log on and poof, nothing.

I have hesitated to bring this up, not wanting to sound negative, but I've been wondering for a while where everyone has gone. There used to be so many new posts and responses, I could barely keep up. Now it doesn't take me long to go through the board. I miss hearing from some of the regulars, but do appreciate those who are still posting. I sure hope the board continues, I'd be lost! Also, wouldn't mind some ideas for new places, if anyone has suggestions.

I know quite a few who have left due to over-moderation and rules that they break that they didn't even realize existed that they have gotten handslapped for. I did once but ended up coming back and lurking more than participating.

I think it's a great idea to get emails. Can't hurt to have a back up.
I don't read too much in people coming and going. Some people I know left because life took center stage. They felt they spent too much time on here (computer). They wanted the people in their lives to matter more. Some have moved on or have blogs (Instagram). Some have had to take on jobs and work longer hours. And, sadly, some have died to age or illness. It happens. The computer age makes it very easy to not socialize in your home life. I don't have family that lives around me. I spend a lot time by myself. My circle of friends is small. No sewing buddies. I love having my cyber peeps to liven up my day and share their talents.
It does feel like we're dealing with less people sometimes and then out of the blue, we get new members to enjoy. And, sometimes older members return when life slows down again.
I can see that new swaps are still being posted. I don't think they would do that if there were issues to deal with.
I guess we will just have to see what happens.

Judith1005, I am the same. Live alone and enjoy reading a lot of different threads almost every night and sometimes in the day. I have learned a lot from all the wonderful women and men on this board.
