Lightbulb Easy Exploding Block for small animal quilt

I liked making this block because you can start with any size center square you wish.

There is a u-tube video tutorial from the Missouri Star Quilt company that explains the process. I like the baby quilt that Jenny Doan shows in the tutorial. This is a great beginner quilt as there are no matching points.

that's cute. I love the bright colors you used. the thing that I don't like about that MSQC tut is that the points are cut off. that's just my preference. lots of others do like that tut.

I've make 3 quilts using that pattern, and have a kit made up for another.

That is so cute and your fabrics are so bright and pretty. I will have to go and find this tutorial by Jenny Doan.

I agree. I would just add an additional green border around it, then bind it to fix that small problem. It is super cute! I like the quilting motif you did. Really fun!

What size squares do you start your block with? Also what size block do you end up with to make your quilts?
In the video, the starting squares are 4 inches. Thanks for sharing.
