    Default New Pattern?

When you have a new quilt pattern, and it comes in different sizes, but you really want to make the king-size, do you try making the throw size first to see how it sews out or just jump in and make the king-size? Thanks

I jump in feet first! Mostly because once I make a pattern, I’m not really inclined to make it again unless I really really love it and even then not back to back.

I make it whatever size I have the fabric for. LOL

Try 1 or 2 blocks with scrap fabric. Ta-da or uh-uh!

I seldom make a pattern twice so after making a sample block, I would jump right in.

jump in! If it's a little tricky looking I always hope to be patient enough to make a sample block first, but....patience is not one of my virtues unfortunately.

I have too many quilts on my bucket list to do the same pattern twice, so I would jump right in and do the size you want!

This is what I do. I can preview the block that way and see if I like it as much as I think I will. I'm way too lazy and don't have enough time to make a whole quilt (even and lap size one) before making the "real" quilt.

Another one here who rarely makes the same pattern more than once so I just jump in. If it looks challenging I may make a block first but not usually.

I jump right in. But I also don't cut all my fabric in the beginning. I cut a little, sew a little, assemble a little. So if I end up hating the process or the color selection, ta da! A throw quilt.
