    Default Aztec or Southwester Quilt?

    Hi Everyone!
Does anyone have a pattern for an Aztec or Southwestern Quilt? My sister is in the hospital fighting Covid and pneumonia and is getting plasma and I want to make her a quilt so badly. She lives in AZ and loves the aztec design. My brother in law is also in the hospital fighting covid as well. I have a brother in the hospital also and the covid seems to have affected his brain. I am so sad but want to start on something for each of them to keep my mind off them laying in the hospital. I can only see my brother since I am his POA and he can no longer talk. I hate this disease that is trying to take the only family members I have!!! Thanks for your help on this search and please pray for my family!

    Bonjour Quilts has this:

    https://www.bonjourquilts.com/shop/g...quilt-pattern/

she also has a quilt called Triangle Trove that if done in the right colors that would read as southwest inspired.
Here is my Triangle Trove Quilt in a twin.

I found this pic online. I think this may be easy to work up. I suggest doing a google search for more ideas. So sorry for you and your family. This is definitely a difficult time for you.

I have no patterns to offer but want to say that I am so sorry about the health challenges of your family. My heart is with you and my prayers are with your sister, brother and brother-in-law.

I recently found several southwest quilt patterns. Free one by Suzyquilts:
    https://suzyquilts.com/warrior-quilt-pattern/

    Navajo throw by Quiltfox:
    https://www.quiltfox-design.com/prod...w-size-56-x-78

And this designer as well: https://www.jmichellewatts.com/shop-1

Midnight quilt show has a video caled modern southwest quilt, but the pattern was on the old blueprint site.

You can also look up a block called Delectable Mountains if you want to try to design something yourself.

I think the real key to Southwestern design is in the colors. Any quilt will have that flair if done with the right palette, but even a southwestern design won't look right if done in the wrong fabrics.

I am so sorry that your family is being so affected by this virus. I hope for the best for all of you.

Omgosh, how horrible. I am so sorry for you and wishing you all the very best.
I think Tartan is spot on about colors.
