Looks like a disappearing nine patch to me.

Yes, the first is D9P. The second I added flying geese to make it a decent size quilt. All fabrics were used up with very small amount of scraps leftover

The "ugly" fabrics look so good because of the patterns you chose for them. Good work!!!

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I like them both.

I find what I considered an ugly quilt or just not fabrics I would like in a quilt for myself, turns out from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan once quilted. Plus each of us have our own tastes. I had a friend who wanted a quilt made out of dull fall colors. It took me forever to make it as the colors just didn't excite me but once I got it put together and quilted, I liked it more. Not enough to keep it for myself but more than I did when I 1st started the project. Even had enough scraps to make a quilt for the dog. One way to rid myself of all those dull colors in my stash.

Myself, I love bright colors which I'm sure isn't to everyone's tastes but that's okay too.

I like this YT video for ugly fabric. I actually liked the finished quilt I made from my unwanted fabrics!

I like those quilts and you did such a wonderful job in choosing patterns that let them shine.

Those are nice quilts! How can birds or animals be ugly? The flying geese are great. I have so much trouble with them!
