The 2 1/2" is marked is just a smidge over 1/2"
The 1 1/2" is marked at about 3/8"

If you have any of the rulers, the centers are all exactly the same degree.

I'm working on this one right now, I used the 1 1/2" template, it makes a 2" square. This little quilt is 12" square at the moment. So they are tiny little twisters. So cute.

very cute! so tiny! i like to see people put a quarter or a ruler near or on the item, so we can really see how small it is!

I've added the quarter. That's a good idea because you really can't tell what size it was.

What a cutie. I do like the small ones. Not sure how you manage the micro mini, such tiny pieces.

Thank you for sharing this information. I hope I can do half as good as you.

Watterstide, thank you, and Grann of 6, it's even prettier in the bigger picture. Plus, now I want to try some tiny ones too!

One more question, do I cut the border the same size as the blocks.
    Thanks again.

I cut a 3" border for the 5" squares. I would say as a general rule, to take the diagonal measurement and cut your border half of that. Correct me if I am wrong, please. I think I cut a 5" border for my 8" blocks.

On the 2 1/2 template I cut the border 2", just to be sure I had enough fabric, on the 1 1/2 template I think I cut just a little over an inch, probably safer 1 1/2" . Better to have a little extra than not enough.
