Thank you! This is one of my favorite to do blocks, but all those triangles had put me off. Now, I think I can do it.

Seem very close to the way Eleanor Burns makes hers in her Card Trick book. I have made them this way for a LONG time now.

As I personally am not an Eleanor follower I don't know about her card trick. (Long story that has little to do with her piecing.)

I do know that long before Eleanor, or many other known quilters, was Mary Ellen Hopkins, who was a front runner in the speed-piecing/strip-piecing movement, late 70s, very early 80s. She could always find a better, easier way to make a traditional block and often make it a slap-your-forehead 'aha' moment fun.

I, for one, am very grateful for her vision early in the quilting resurgence. This tutorial is how I learned the block right from her seminar in Las Vegas more than a couple decades ago. Many quilters have picked it up since then, and before.
