Your old machines are beautiful and your husband does an awesome job restoring them. Can you tell me what he uses to clean the black enamel? I have an old treadle and am afraid of destroying the decal when I clean it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have cleaned with Murphy's Oil Soap in the past, but was wondering if there is something better :)

I have seen a lot of old machines but this is the first time one was described with a 2 thread - chain stitch. It makes me wonder which other of those older machines had this stitching system.
