We experienced the same thing on Sunday while driving south from Toledo to Columbus. At first , I didn't realize what was flying in front of the car. It reminded me of a scene from "The Birds". Needless to say, they made quite a mess on the windshield, grill of the car, and the backs of the mirrors. I can't imagine how many had a collision with my car!!

I live along the WI/IL border (WI side) and spotted a few of these at a dear friend's house. Her hubby told us that the whole back of his garage were covered with them - beautiful creatures aren't they?

Had some on my rose bush under the sewing room window. There were just 2 or three. Thought they were so pretty, but didn't know what kind they were. Thank's again, Quilting Board, for coming up with an answer to a question. LOL

We have had them here in Northfield, MN. My brother mentioned seeing hundreds of them a week or so ago when he was driving up from Rochester, MN. I know we have had them here.

My friend and I were commenting on the number of butterflies around lately. I just heard on the news this afternoon and there was an article in the newspaper about them. Seems like the warm weather and early spring brought them out. I must have had 20 around my deck one afternoon. Really something to see.
