Larry looks like Larry's picture so what more could you ask for? What you have done takes far more talent than I have so kudos to you.

Your 'pup" PP came out great. Diamonds are not as easy of a pattern as it may appear. Your white diamonds appear bigger than the dark brown diamonds. They should all be the exact same size. As the old saying goes, "if you do not succeed, try try again".

Love your pup. You did a great job in fabric choices. The snout color actually looks like fur. That is so cute. Thanks for sharing with us.
The show Quilty has a lot of great beginner tips and are on utube if your interested in tutorials. I enjoy them and found several things I didn't know and I've been quilting for about 10 years now.

Larry is a cutie, you captured his facial expression perfectly. Although I am sure he would rather lick the pan or dish than be used as a pot holder.

In my opinion... Your work has a tremendous amount of character. You have forged ahead with your creation without fear, proven by wonderful and unique results. Quilting rules can be just guidelines, after all. The pieced dog is like a caricature of the photo, cute. And the STAR! Oh my, it's wonkiness would go great in my kitchen, very "homespun". Being super-sensitive to your errors always has bad results, so my advice is turn from that and move forward. Good job. Love it!

I think you did a terrific job making Larry's picture. Sometimes it is good to go out of your comfort zone.
