Those checks are very nice but very busy! One would almost have to use a black Sharpie when making out the check in order to read the info. Not for me but I very rarely write checks anymore.

Thanks osewme! There were some I hadn't seen, a couple were pretty expensive, even though I only write a few checks a month, I'm still not paying some of those prices! It's funny, I looked at the Walmart site and didn't see any of the ones you linked...might end up going with them. I appreciate you taking the time to help!

I hardly use my debit card--any hacking into it or fraudulent use will not be guaranteed by your financial institute where a credit card co. usually will cover all except the first $50---although when both my credit cards have been hacked they covered all the charge. About the only time I use my debit is when I am getting cash or doing a transaction at the bank it on. I do still use checks for some things and will be shortly needing to order new ones.

Years ago I used to order checks from Current. They had the cutest quilted ones- faded enough to write but still see the lovely designs. I still have some but I rarely write checks anymore so they are pretty old. Not sure if they still carry them.

That's why I don't use a debit card. Also, when your debit card is hacked you have NO money. At least with the credit card, you aren't out any cash and have time to deal with the card companies. I've had several hacks and even had my wallet stolen once. I never had to pay a cent. The credit cards companies took care of all of it.

I write so few checks that I really don't worry about what they look like. I just order whatever looks good on that day from Wells Fargo.

I have ordered from Checks in the Mail for years. They have a quilt design check but it takes up the entire check. I want to be able to see the written info and not be obscured by the design. I dont know how banks correctly process checks that have a large image.

I do this as well at local Quilt shops and yarn shops. I want them to stay in business and they do pay that percentage that we enjoy through rewards programs with credit card companies. I don't write a lot of checks each month but I do like the option.

Sometimes they can't, really. The check will reject if the computer can't read it, and then someone has to manually place the check into a sleeve and encode the check amount onto the sleeve for processing. And sometimes the system reads it wrong and the check is processed for the wrong amount.

It used to be my job to research and correct those types of issues - it happens every single day. It happens a little less now thanks to ACH processing of checks, but it's still an issue. That job still exists.
