    oh that is perfect! My Mother made one very similar years ago and she had buttons on the tree. At the bottom there were pockets. Each day you would reach into a pocket to find an ornament (a fancy button with a gold string) to hang on the buttons already on the tree. On Christmas Eve, you would hang the last button - It was like an Advent calendar but instead a Christmas tree :) I'll have to find a picture to share!

    oh that is adorable. my friend made a quilt for her dtr like one i did yrs ago but she did the holly leaves differently and the berrys were done in sequins.
    love your "decorations" on the tree!!
