Our 2nd bathroom shower/tub isn't used so I have long pieces of fabric hung over hangers. That is where I was hanging up finished quilt tops that needed quilting until I discovered I had at least 8 tops, backs and matching binding hanging in there -- I've whittled those down to 1 unfinished quilt top. No, I didn't quilt them myself, I sent them to a LA quilter -- and am happy to have them completely done!

I try to keep all supplies for specific projects together, regardless of the size.

I ask for a bolt and wrap it on that. I have a spot in my cabinet where I left the shelves spaced out far enough that I can put an entire bolt in there, standing up. That's where all my larger pieces of fabric go, my wide muslin stash, and also my rolls of stabilizer and interfacing and fusible web stand up in there.

There are a few colors that I buy by the bolt so I made full-size bolt storage a priority when designing my cabinet layout.

I did some rearranging yesterday. Had bolts I picked up from Walmart in fabric. Friendly with the cutters there. They had 5 bolt boards in cart ready to take to the back. Let me have them all. I hate fabric on the floor and really have no other place to put them but on shelves. I split the boards lengthwise so they would be thinner. Worked better than I thought. I use the comic boards and I don't believe they take up that much space. It all depends on your space and what works for you.

Ruler folded but left flat at the end! Then they are stacked on a closet shelf.

I use the cardboard rolls off the batting rolls. It's a lot easier for me to work with and I have an abundance of them. I just cut the roll to fit the fabric width and roller up.
