I never pin on any size when spray basting.

I pin the corners when I spray baste. Four pins is about as much as I'm willing to do, and I've never had problems even on queen-sized quilts if I skip the corner pins; I use them out of habit rather than necessity.

I usually spray baste on a clean/new tarp or huge (thrift store) flat sheet on the driveway. Gives me so much room to move around it when I'm smoothing things out!

I do both, spray and pin baste. Probably not as many pins as previously using just pins.

i am facing a night of pin basting. it's so not my favorite part.

i'm not willing to use aerosol cans with glue in them, and am too chicken to try the elmer's glue.

The suggestion to pin the edges is a good one. I have mistakenly sewed over a flipped piece one to many times and had to rip .

I do not understand basting with Elmers glue. Could someone please explain.

I use Sullivan's spray in a pink can, I've never had to pin

I too pin after spray basting, using a DMS I have to do a lot of pushing & pulling to get the quilt through the little throat so better safe than sorry, although being a beginner is it mostly sorry no matter what
