Love your quilt! You make amazing bargello quilts. Question: Is that Hot Rod on your calendar? It sure looks like him.

How neat! I am glad I was helpful. I hope you enjoy this type of quilt as much as I do. I just made a cat-sized quilt out of the scraps left over from this quilt. Now Hot Rod and I have matching quilts.

Thanks, everyone, for the sweet compliments. Hot Rod and I enjoy hearing them. . And I had not noticed that the cat on my calendar looks just like Hot Rod!!! How neat is that. Thanks to two of you for pointing that out.

This is a very nice bargello. I've been bitten by the bargello bug and I'm trying not to make too many. I've made 3 in a row already. Then Jordan Fabrics on utube showed one that I would like to make and then....here you come with another I would like to try. Bad girl!!!! Is this pattern still available on the website?

Donna Jordan has a good tutorial for bargello quilt on YouTube. She uses 9 different fabrics, and sews squares, then sews the squares into rows. It seems easy enough even for me to do, but haven't done one yet. My biggest problem is trying to figure out what coordinating fabric "goes" with each of the fabrics.

Eileen Wright has a book called Twist and Turn Bargellos... It has about 10 patterns and at the back of that book is a set of instructions for making a placemat. She assumes a beginner is doing it, and she shows what to do, step by step. I made one of those and then made Surf Song, which is also in her book. Actually, she has two books, but you want the first one. It has an orange and yellowish Bargello on the front. I think the second book says it is Book 2 of Twist and Turn Bargellos. I got my book from Amazon.

Then, ask questions here if you have them. Quilters on this site held my hand the whole time. But, warning, Bargellos quilts may be addictive.
