I like the one on the right--the inner boarder helps it pop. Thanks for involving us in your design dilemma--It's interesting to see how people are viewing it. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Thanks everyone. I cut both borders, pinned one to each side and still cannot decide. Guess I will close my eyes and pick one. Don't know why I just can't decide......

Well, I think I am going to go off the beaten path here. I would use a thin border of the dots, a bit bigger of the brown and then wider on the pink & off white. Told you it was off the path. What will the applique be? Loved the fact that you prewashed the fabric. Good luck. Hope this helped somewhat.

The first border which is on (the multi colored one) is 1 1/2' wide. The second border (the one I am undecided about) is 2 1/2" wide. Then the third border (pink) will have a saying embroidered on it - it is 3 1/2 " wide. The next border (off white) will be 8 1/2" wide and it has houses and fences and flowers and trees appliqued on it. I am leaving it alone tonight - walk by every once in awhile and have a look. Maybe in the morning I will be able to make up my mind. I am leaning towards the black with the small star but it might take away from the embroidery. Decisions, decisions......

Forgot to share what I am sure will make some of you laugh out loud. Because I never prewash and decided to try this time - each piece of fabric I use is first measured and I allow for shrinkage, washed and ironed - remeasured and cut to size needed. So it is slow going. I do not want a bunch of prewashed fabric mixed in with my not washed fabric so....... Imagine I need one piece 1 1/2 " by 20" - I measure, cut and wash, dry and iron, measure and cut each and every time... LOL This quilt is a test to see if prewashing is in my future or not.

I agree with Candace! I was leaning toward the right, just because I liked the fabric with stars, but after I read Candace say, the quilt not the border should pop, I took another look! Yes, I agree with Candace!
