Very good job. I think pressing is a good idea. It makes everything go together smoother.

It's looking great.
I press often when I am making a quilt and square up each block and that makes them go to together so much easier and you don't end up with a wonky quilt

Great job. Isn't is so much fun to see your quilt come together. Hope you are enjoying the process.

Looks like it's going to be really pretty. I usually press each block as I finish it. That way it doesn't seem like all I'm doing is ironing! Ugh!

What ya think?? Any tips greatly accepted . Should I press each strip first before attaching to make the block?

Your blocks are beautiful. I press before and after piecing with lots of starch, but that is just me.

Some people don't press at all until after piecing.. I just do what grandma did.

I press every seam as I go along- it's a good habit to have, it will help with accuracy as you go along.

Great start! :)

Great start and love the color choices. I agree with MIJul about pressing .........makes it go together better if sections are pressed first. Keep posting progress...can not wait for finish project!!

I think you are doing a great job. It really doesn't look like a first quilt. Glad so many answered the pressing vs ironing question for you.
