How neat!! I didn't start with scraps, which may have been a part of my frustration. I had a layer cake of batiks that I wanted to experiment with. It wasn't until I brought in fabrics from outside the layer cake that I started being pleased with the quilt. Some of the batiks just didn't look good with others, though I guess whoever put the layer cake together didn't see it that way. They probably weren't "color challenged," which I know I am.

I look forward to seeing your quilt, or your progress as you piece...

Hooray! I can finally reply to a thread. I thought QB never wanted to hear from me again.

More importantly, you were so much help to me, Dina and other thread talkers. My brand spanking new DIL's favorite color is purple. I have been collecting purple, purple-ish, and "printed including purple" fabrics since before the wedding but couldn't find anything I liked for a pattern. Magnifient! I like your pattern a great deal. It's just what the doctor ordered. Perfect. How blessed I am to have such expert and creative and tasteful help. Otherwise, I'd be dead in the water.

You all have given me joyous time in my sewing room. Thank you.

Pat

Your quilt is very nice. I have all her books and have made them scrappy, that's the way I prefer. This is one I have not made yet, it's lovely and I really like the fabrics.

So aren't you glad you struggled through, your quilt is beautiful and when the quilting is done, wow. I love purple and blue so boy would I love to have your quilt. I know the intended recipient will to.
