We are crossing off the days on the calendar! And yes I will probably bore you all rigid with pics! I can't wait to have him meet our 'senior dog' Dougal who is 14 - I rescued him aged 1 so am not sure of his lineage but he looks like a dachsie - JRT cross! SO I will have a Little and a Large!

I agree completely! We are lucky in that we are tenants of local landowners and have the right to roam over several hundred acres of fields, woods, ponds, etc. It is doggie heaven! And here in Somerset it's very much tradtitional English rural life - shooting, farming etc... All my friends have dogs so he'll have lots of doggie friends to go walking with too!

How wonderful that you met one! I have been reading the breed handbook and there is an article in there written by a man who shoots pheasant on the prairies of South Dakota with Munsters - so you do have them in the States but possibly as here in the UK, they are not very common. The breed was introduced here (from Germany where it originates) in the 70s and so is still fairly new. And they are very controlled in the breeding programme so as not to get inbreeding - the mother of our pup was imported from Germany and his father has German blood through his parents. The great thing about them is that the working and show stock are the same - no disctinction like with some breeds where you get 'ugly workers' and 'beautiful nutters'!

Oh do you have a pic of your little Sirius? Perhaps they could be doggy penfriends!
