Default C-5, Eye of the Cyclone

I really enjoyed doing this block, and my daughter says it is her favorite so far. I redrafted, going more with Jane's original than the pattern in the book. And I am no longer afraid of hand-piecing circles. I didn't realize I would learn so much from this quilt.

    Default C-7, Megan's Mountain Laurel

I loved doing this block, although all my points still didn't turn out the way I wanted. Very small pieces involved in the background color sides of the diamonds. I only appliqued the outer 4 diamonds, and pieced the rest.

    Default C-9, Jane's Tears

I liked doing this block, and I had been dreading it because I had never done any reverse applique. In the end, I enjoyed doing it.

Actually, I didn't choose most of them. I bought one of the BOTM kits from an online company. Now, I did substitute some fabrics that they sent that I just didn't like, and I think they sent too many browns. IMHO, most of the folks who look at Jane's quilt forget that those fabrics have faded, and some of the reds have faded to browns. So, I added a few reds, blues, pinks, and violets, and I have arranged the colors in a true trip around the world fashion.
