please don't be too impressed. i cut strips 1 1/4" wide by wof. then sewed all strips together on long side. then joined the 2 long sides to make a tube. then slice at 1 1/4", unpick 1 short seam, and continue, having the colors go from light to dark, and sewing the new colorful strips together, bumping up one color each time. there are a lot of intersections to match, and at times they were a little off. you repeat the same sequence for the top left section and the bottom right section. then reverse the order for the top right section and the bottom left section. remove one row in the middle then sew all 4 sections together. easy peasy, even if i've made it sound confusing. you are better off reading a pattern than counting on mine, but it comes down to always sewing strips, so it's not difficult. the hardest part is keeping track of where you are in the process.

Look what arrived this morning, this gorgeous little black and white beauty from annies-best, along with some delightful choccies and printed labels. Thank you so much Barbara for being such a fantastic swap partner. Another great DQ to add to my black / white and red combination quilts.
